Why facebook and not friendster?

Posted on | July 24, 2008

Social networking is an interesting not so new way to keep in touch with old buddies. I’m not tech savvy but i do find these networking tools to be very helpful.

Friendsters and Facebook is the social networks that I joined to keep updates with friends, meet new people ,and flirt socialize. Many people joined for different reasons. I’m just using it like an RSS feed to what my buddies and relatives are doing while I’m not with them. Oh, I’m using blogging terms right now.

Why Facebook and not friendster?

Well,  Facebook is certainly the next big thing.  Friendster is just getting too boring to be associated with.

Why Facebook? Here’s a few points:

1.Very neat interface.

2.There are tonnes of applications to explore. I just love Word Challenge.

3.Facebook supports many blog sharing features. Very ideal for bloggers who wish to share contents and post in the facebook profile.

4. Interesting photo and messaging features.

5.I’m thinking what to add next. Maybe the “who you might know feature

So Friendster, hope for a change.

Turning hobby ideas to gold

Posted on | July 14, 2008

Ideas are just merely thoughts. There isn’t a realization. When there’s no action, nothing will happen. Thinking alone doesn’t put plate food on the table . So, people who think that they think a lot and who are thinkers, stop thinking and just do it!

Hobby’s are things that people love to do. They do it even if they are required to fork out some money. Example, watching a movie, listening to music, writing , photography, reading and coaching.Working your job isn’t a hobby. The moment the employer stops paying, people stop appearing at work.  If you are willing to do something for free and it’s not generating income, its called a hobby.

Wait a second! Would’nt it be great if we can turn our hobbies to gold and stop start  generating some income? Absolutely. How to start? Many people would but don’t know where to start. Instead, they think of what other people think of them if they start. In a book called “live without fear ” by Mark Matteson, there is a quote that I struck me real hard.

“You wouldn’t worry about what other people thought of you if you realized how little they did!

Think of something that really interest you and start doing it, perhaps for free until you get good with it. Practice makes perfect. Be prepare to make a sale . There’s a misconception that people think that doing business does not require sales.

” I don’t do sales”

“I can’t market and I can’t do direct sales” and so forth.

You need to do sales in a business. You need to have a market your products. No sales no revenue. Simple as that.

The hidden class and lessons of life

Posted on | July 9, 2008

People are fragile and weak creatures. Fragile yet able to create wonders and magic. Beneath the flesh lies many different stories. Interesting and yet hidden to naked eyes unless revealed by the person. A person can be like a story book. His life dictates a story of a life time. All the past victories and failures written within the pages of the memory. A personal journal etched in his brain waiting to be discovered. To be told and narrated. I think knowing a person at a deeper level is like an idea exchange session. To be able to comprehend and understand an individual’s core values provides a learning tool. Yes, it’s a learning tool to comprehend one of the complex questions of life. Different ideas do clash at the beginning, but once understood may create a consensus. In a nutshell , sincere interaction within people of different or similar background provides a learning platform to growth inside out. Unlike classes, this is one of life’s ways of educating people. Maybe that is why humans aren’t born alone . They are not created alone so that they could learn from each other. So, that we can learn from each other.

Why is it important to develop principles in life?

Posted on | June 26, 2008

Principles are a set of rules or code that people live upon. In the old ancient times, it is known as the code of honor among warriors. With today’s modern lifestyle and unpredictable social trends and cultures , it is quite important to actually have a set of principles to live by. The question today is , why do we need principles?

A principle can be a core belief of a person. It dictates the way of life and a code of conduct. For example , you may have a principle of respecting the elders. So, it is an un-question practice to greet people elder than you according to their ‘titles’ instead of casually calling their name. Like “uncle” , “aunty” ,” Mr” and etc.

So why we need it? We need to. It’s to make sure that we live life according to our values. It’s to make sure that we don’t go astray from hat we truly believe in. By living by a set of principles, we are actually building a credibility of ourselves. A sense of integrity among our peers. To better earn respect from others because they knew you live by your word and honor every single one of it.

At least with a life principle, we are able to govern our life better and become great leaders. So, why do you think having your own principles are getting more important these days? Hope you readers can answer that and provide some simple comments/feedback on it.
